Love on a Leash
for dogs that have passed the Canine Good Citizen test
What fun it is to go out in public with your well-behaved, polite canine friend!
LoonaToon and I have been active with this program, started by PAWS, to educate kids about proper care of animals. We visit local schools and libraries for kids of all ages. We do our programs as a team, usually with other members and their dogs, as each dog has a unique personality to add more laughs and smiles.
Other members of this group go to the local hospitals and retirement homes to visit people that don't have the love of a pet at their disposal. Stroking and talking to a dog is very relaxing and helps releave stress and depression plus lower a resident's blood pressure!
We have a 2 session program designed to offer you and your dog some handling skills needed for visitations. You will learn how to recognize and reduce stress for your dog, how to handle a difficult situation, and learn how to navigate around wheelchairs, tables, beds, and walkers.
