Having a well mannered canine friend does not happen over night. It is a long term commitment that you made when you brought him into your home.

Just like children, dogs develop their personalities and behaviors (good or bad), over time. Rules are set and to be abided with. Rewards for doing the right thing comes in many forms. Good behavior happens because of your guidance, leadership, and patience .

So how long will it take to teach your dog to be the ideal canine you have in mind? There is no magic time. And don't think your dog will grow out of a behavior... that behavior can and will get worse with age.

Every day is a learning experience for your dog. Start training early as a young pup and don't stop there! He is never too young or old to learn.
