Dog Reactivity & How to Handle It
Dog reactivity is an exaggerated response to triggers, such as other dogs, people, or loud noises, and is driven by feelings of fear, anxiety, or frustration. It often manifests as excessive barking, lunging, growling, or snapping. Once you understand why your dog reacts this way, you can help him cope. Bring your questions.

Socializing Your New
Adopted Dog
Pawsome, you adopted a dog! Now that you have your new dog home, you may think… I need to get him out to meet the world! A stressed dog, no matter what age, is not a happy one, which may lead to behavioral problems. Learn to recognize the signs of stress and how to make sure your dog’s new experiences are tail-wagging positive!

Bringing Home a New Dog:
the Importance of Decompression
Adopting a new dog? Whether adopting from a shelter, rescue, or foster, many dogs need time to decompress and adjust to a new home. Behavioral assessments (ex: good with other dogs, kids, etc.) provide a baseline, but don’t always translate immediately to a new home. Similarly, decompression rules found online rarely reflect the actual, individual needs of each adopted dog. Let’s discuss making the transition positive, including proper introductions to resident pets and children. Questions are welcome!
